Coaching Courses – Volunteer Coaching

Requirements for Coaches

All volunteer coaches in the Borough of Woodcliff Lake—whether serving as a head coach or assistant coach—must comply with all State and Borough requirements. The following are mandatory:

Rutgers SAFETY Clinic

All coaches must complete this course once; it is valid for all subsequent coaching. For more information and available courses, visit the Rutgers Youth Sports Research Council.

HEADS UP Concussion Course

This course is required annually for all youth sports coaches. Complete the course for free at HEADS UP to Youth Sports: Coaches | CDC Injury Center. Make sure to click the link for Coaches when registering.

Background Check / Fingerprinting

Per the New Jersey State Police, all volunteer coaches must schedule a fingerprint appointment via IdentoGO using the following service code:

Important Notes

• Results are sent directly to the Woodcliff Lake Police Department; no other town organization receives these results.
• When completing your information, use:
  • Organization Name/Address: Woodcliff Lake Parks & Recreation, 188 Pascack Road, Woodcliff Lake, NJ 07677
  • Applicant Name/Address: Your personal information as the person being fingerprinted
  • Contributor Case Number (VRN): B15001
• You will receive your Applicant PCN number from IdentoGO on the day of your appointment.

Tips

• Forms and online training can also be acquired via the association you are volunteering with.
• During the busy sports season, fingerprinting appointments may take up to two weeks. Be sure to schedule early to ensure completion before the season begins.
