Library Information

The Borough of Woodcliff Lake offers a reimbursement program to help residents cover the cost of obtaining a public library membership at participating libraries.

Borough Reimbursement Program

The Borough will reimburse residents for eligible public library membership fees as follows:

Residents ages 62 and older: Up to $200.
All other residents: Up to $175.

Residents are responsible for paying only the difference between the library’s membership fee and the applicable Borough reimbursement, where applicable. Reimbursement amounts and eligibility may vary by library and membership type.

Ridgewood Public Library

Westwood Public Library

Upper Saddle River Library

Residents should bring proof of Woodcliff Lake residency when registering. The resident pays only the amount shown in the table below at the time of registration.

Library membership fees are established by each individual library and are subject to change without notice. Resident costs and Borough contributions may differ by library and membership type. Please verify current fees, membership options, and billing or reimbursement procedures directly with the library before applying.

Examples of reimbursement

Scenario 1: Montvale Library

If the membership fee is $450, a resident who qualifies for the standard reimbursement may receive up to $175, while a qualifying senior (age 62 or older) may receive up to $200, subject to program eligibility and requirements. The resident must pay the fee upfront and submit the required documentation to Borough Hall.

Scenario 2: Hillsdale Free Public Library

For a non-senior membership costing $275, a Woodcliff Lake resident pays $100, with the Borough paying $175 directly. For a qualifying senior membership, the resident pays $50, with the Borough paying $200 directly toward the $250 membership fee.
