Mandatory Water Restrictions for Woodcliff Lake Residents – Effective April 1

The Park Ridge Water Department, which provides water service that affects Woodcliff Lake residents, has announced mandatory water restrictions effective April 1, 2026 through September 1, 2026 due to New Jersey currently being under a drought warning and reduced water production capacity caused by wells being taken offline for treatment upgrades and repairs.

Watering Schedule for Woodcliff Lake Residents

Beginning April 1, the use of manual and automatic lawn sprinklers will be permitted only on the following days:

  • Tuesday
  • Thursday
  • Saturday

Exceptions to the Watering Schedule

  • New sod or seed may be watered daily for up to 45 days after planting.
  • Two consecutive days of watering are permitted following a commercial application of fertilizer, herbicide, or pesticide.

Additional Allowed Water Uses

  • Hand-held hoses may be used any day for irrigation or washing vehicles, provided they have a nozzle that automatically shuts off when released.
  • Washing of impervious surfaces may occur only if required by the municipal or county health department to address a public health concern.
  • Home maintenance cleaning (houses, decks, fences, windows, outdoor furniture, etc.) may be performed using a bucket and sponge or a hose with an automatic shut-off nozzle.
  • Personal power washers may only be used when preparing a surface for painting, staining, or coating.
  • Commercial power washing services may be hired for approved home maintenance cleaning, except for washing pavement or other impervious surfaces.

Residents are asked to cooperate with these restrictions to help conserve water during this period of reduced supply.
