Borough of Woodcliff Lake – Hydrant Challenge
The Borough of Woodcliff Lake announces the Hydrant Challenge for local students, running now through March 1.
Participants are encouraged to help keep the community safe by clearing snow around fire hydrants following winter weather events. Students must shovel at least three (3) feet of snow around a fire hydrant to ensure it is fully accessible for emergency use.
How to Participate:
- Shovel 3 feet around a fire hydrant
- Take a photo of the cleared hydrant
- Email the photo along with the hydrant location, participant’s name, address, and contact information to:

All entries must be submitted by March 1.
The top five entries will each receive a $50 gift card.
Participants are reminded to dress appropriately for winter conditions, work safely, and ensure snow is completely cleared around the hydrant.
