Borough of Park Ridge
Mayor's Proclamation Invoking
Chapter 99 – Water Conservation
Proclamation No. 2026-01

Whereas, Section 99-1 of the Code of the Borough of Park Ridge provides that the provisions of Chapter 99, Water Conservation, shall become enforceable upon this Proclamation of the Mayor; and

Whereas, the Borough of Park Ridge is committed to protecting the public health, safety, and welfare by ensuring a reliable and adequate supply of potable water for its residents, businesses, emergency services, and public facilities; and

Whereas, the Borough is currently experiencing drought conditions, increased seasonal water demand, and operational limitations associated with the municipal water system, making water conservation necessary to preserve an adequate supply for essential uses and fire protection; and

Whereas, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of the Water and Sewer Utility, and the Director of Operations, the Mayor has determined that immediate water conservation measures are necessary to safeguard the Borough's public water supply and ensure the continued delivery of safe and adequate service to all customers;

Now, therefore, I, Keith J. Misciagna, Mayor of the Borough of Park Ridge, by the authority vested in me, pursuant to Chapter 99 of the Code of the Borough of Park Ridge, do hereby proclaim that the provisions of Chapter 99 are hereby invoked and shall be in full force and effective beginning July 1, 2026, and shall remain in effect until modified or rescinded by a subsequent proclamation in both the Borough of Park Ridge and the Borough of Woodcliff Lake:

  3. Residents, businesses, and all customers served by the Borough water system shall comply with all mandatory water conservation measures issued by the Borough.
  4. The Water Department is authorized to administer these restrictions and issue guidance necessary for their implementation.
  5. Violations of this Proclamation and Chapter 99 of the Borough Code may result in enforcement action and penalties as provided by law.
