Info on Park Ridge Water Well Meeting

Park Ridge Water Information

Members of the Borough Council and the Board of Health met with staff from the Park Ridge Water Department and their Borough Administrator regarding the report sent out regarding the high levels of Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA) in three of the wells that provide drinking water to our residents. The levels are monitored quarterly and were marginally high in 2021 and in November the State Department of Environmental Protection issued a notice that action was required. Park Ridge shut down operation of the three wells immediately. It should be noted that there are many other wells that serve the town and the water is comingled, so there was no direct delivery of water from the three wells into any homes. Without the three wells, there is sufficient water supply for our Borough. All of the other wells in the system comply with all the standards. Park Ridge is updating the filtration on the three wells in question and should have them back in service by May 2022.
